We cannot fault the support, advice and service that Douglas gave us during the sale of our property. We bought the property from him originally, back in 2016 and he made that process so easy for us that we didn't even look into anyone other than him to contact when we decided to sell.

No question was too trivial. He was always on hand to answer our concerns or questions and was happy to arrange surveys and reports on our behalf as we were in the UK. He was always prompt to respond to our calls/emails and kept us updated on the selling/buying process.

We would not hesitate to buy from him again and will always recommend him to everyone who is thinking of buying/selling in that area, his local knowledge is invaluable. We really can't thank you enough.

We recently purchased a property in the Charente with the assistance of Stephanie Bessant. As remote purchasers, Stephanie provided us with virtual and in person property tours until we found the right one. She guided us through the French purchasing process along with providing support to establish our new dream holiday home. Throughout the process she was professional and attentive, and we can’t thank her enough and would highly recommend her.

We began our house search during the pandemic. We quickly decided Ruffec was top of our list of locations - the train to Angouleme and Poitiers, cinema, stunning church, river beach, market and beautiful walking and cycling were just what we wanted. 

We found a few properties but couldn’t visit in person. Douglas was great and the videos really helped us to understand the pros and cons of different houses. We offered on one property, expecting to view in person before buying, but further lockdowns meant it was not to be. We ended up buying the house without ever visiting in person. It sounded risky but Douglas handled everything and was fantastic at keeping us informed. We completed in summer 2021. We are thrilled with the house and the town. We can’t recommend Ruffec or Douglas enough.

What can I say about Beaux Village? Professional! As a company they have done a good job but it’s not the company I’m here to praise, it’s Chris Summers. Chris is the estate agent that has handled our purchase, from the start he has been nothing but fantastic! He has gone above and beyond what you would expect an average estate agent would do, which is to say, he is not average, he is well above average! Whether it was silly questions answered in a timely fashion or important legal matters helping with translation, explaining the intricate ways that French sell houses, he has done everything quickly, effectively and without question professionally. Chris, you have made my dream of buying this house easy! Five stars.

We started to register with multiple French estate agents in October 2021 at the point that my wife and I decided that we wanted to buy a home in France. Initially, we found that most estate agents operated mostly through email and our property searches initially were limited to on-line via the various websites as we were living in the UAE at the time of initiating our search. Of all agent contacts that we made initially, one person stood out from the get go. Stephanie Bessant from Beaux Villages reached out and initiated a Zoom call with me (within 24 hours of us registering on the Beaux Villages site) to make sure that she understood exactly what we were looking for and explained very throughly the process and what to expect. From this point on the support and responsiveness was frankly EPIC. On our first trip to actually view properties in France, we started our viewings in a completely different area to the one covered by Stephanie, and so she went out of her way to travel over two hours to greet us in France in what was our first trip and grab a coffee and meet face to face to see if there was anything she could do to help or support us, which was so comforting and reassuring, given we were travelling to France and viewing properties fro the first time. We picked up some very useful tips and advice during the coffee as well! From that moment on, we decided that we would place our energy looking for properties with Stephanie and Beaux Villages (although we did not declare this at the time as we still wanted to see how other estate agents responded). Stephanie wasted no time matching a range of very different properties to potentially meet our quite demanding wish list/needs and personally made sure that all visits happened as expected and also was meticulous as well as very open and honest with her feedback and follow up throughout. After a short while we found a great property and throughout the reminder of the quite long process (which is normal) to complete the purchase, Stephanie was with us every set of the way. Email, Phone, Zoom, Whatsapp, you name it, she was there for us. What a star!. I wholeheartedly and strongly would reccommend Stephanie and the team at Beaux Village for a great job well done. Thanks also to David and the back office team who gave great support as well. Super stuff

He was such a pleasure to deal with and made sure the whole process ran smoothly. He explained every step of the process in detail and looked after us from start to finish. We viewed a number of properties across Aude and Ariege through several different agencies (all arranged in advance from the UK). From the get go, communication with Beaux Villages was simple, clear and accurate (and helpfully in perfect English).

We arranged to see the house in Feuilla and Sue Gillin was there when we arrived to show us round. She was friendly, helpful and informative. We loved the property and made an offer the same day.

Sue gave us excellent advice on where to pitch the offer; and then explained and supported us at every stage through the buying process - revisiting the property whilst we in the UK to take photos and negotiate the purchase of furniture and fittings from the vendor.
And on the day of completion, we met again at the property for a final check.

Sue (and the Beaux Villages team) were super helpful throughout - making our first French property buying experience simple and stress free (apart from me losing my passport a week before completion, but I can’t blame that on anyone but myself!!)

So, in summary, fabulous service from a friendly and efficient team, with a particular thanks to Sue.

We recently sold our property with the fantastic support of your agent Heather Comber. We didn't have an easy ride of selling our house, three full asking offers and the third came good, where we would be without Heather I dread to think, she kept us positive from day one and kept telling us she would find the right client and she never gave up on us, always there at the end of the telephone to answer our queries and take the pressure off. They say selling your house is one of the most stressful things that can happen to you but not so much if you have a Heather in your top pocket.

We sold our house recently and Heather Comber was our agent. From start to finish Heather and her colleagues, Helen, Jane and Emma could not have been more amazing. They went above and beyond helping us to secure a sale within a week and helping to sort out some issues we had to resolve with the house before the sale could complete. Heather and Helen even got their husbands involved to help us out. Jane and Helen need a special mention for their language skills which were invaluable to us. Heather was exceptional in her enthusiasm and her hubby Kim made our house look amazing with his photography skills. Absolutely amazing service and would recommend them to anyone!

Judith Whitlow was their representative and looked after our transaction throughout the lengthy process, Covid presenting significant problems due to difficulty with viewings. Andy Jones has been a god send,he has gone above and beyond to help me with my French house purchase, even to the point of meeting me at my new house with his shorts on so that he could help me unload the van !
